The 20th Non-Aligned Movement Summit to Take Place in Uzbekistan

The 20th Non-Aligned Movement Summit is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan. According to the Republic’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, the country is aiming to lead the Movement from 2027 to 2029.

‘We are honoured to announce a historic milestone – Uzbekistan’s plans to host the 20th Summit and lead the Movement for 2027-2029 with a focus on key priorities such as energy security, sustainable development and strengthening global trade systems, Saidov wrote in his Telegram channel.

He added that the Movement’s participants will be able to cope with the challenges of the time together.

This statement was made at the end of the ministerial meeting.

The Non-Aligned Movement is an international organisation that unites 120 states on non-participation principles in military blocs.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reported that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested that the Non-Aligned Movement should hold economic forums.
