Mirziyoyev Launched Development of Nine New Projects

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has launched the development of nine new projects totalling $2 billion.

The Great Silk Road Industrial Technopark in Almalyk is a significant project that aims to accommodate around 100 enterprises with a total investment of $1 billion. This initiative is expected to create 3,000 job opportunities and produce goods worth 5 trillion soums annually, facilitating exports of products worth $300 million.

Furthermore, the Yukorichirchik Region will soon be home to a textile park with a $350 million investment, providing space for over 20 textile and clothing companies.

By 2030, the construction of electricity storage systems with a total capacity of 4,100 megawatts will be completed. Additionally, a $240 million solar power plant in the Buka region, in collaboration with China Datang, is set to generate 576 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually, enough to power 240,000 households.

These developments will significantly boost the region’s generation capacity to 6.5 gigawatts and electricity production to 24 billion kilowatt-hours per year.

Moreover, in partnership with China Energy Overseas Investment, two energy storage system projects with a capacity of 200 megawatts for $220 million will be constructed in the Parkent and Pskent districts.

During the recent ceremony, a 2.5-megawatt small HPP in the Ahangaran region and a 1.5-megawatt small Ugam HPP in the Bostanlyk region was inaugurated, marking positive progress in the region’s energy infrastructure.
