Kursiv presented the Women’s Leadership First Among Equals Award
On Tuesday, the First Among Equals Award Ceremony, organised by Kursiv Uzbekistan, was held at the Hyatt Regency Tashkent Hotel. The event honoured women leaders, entrepreneurs, activists, as well as organisations and projects promoting women’s leadership development in Central Asia.
What is women’s leadership
Anastasia Novikova, the Editor-in-Chief of Kursiv Uzbekistan, highlighted the significance of women’s leadership for the country’s sustainable development. In her speech, she stated, “True leadership is not about seeking power or competing with men; it is the ability to inspire, create a positive atmosphere, and make wise decisions. We must unite to promote the principles of women’s leadership, as it contributes to the prosperity of society, the economy, science, art, and many other fields.”

Best projects
This year’s Award recognised not only women leaders but also projects that promote women’s leadership.
Nodira Vakhidova received recognition for promoting women in business through the support of the International Business Women’s Association, Tadbirkor Ayol. Nargis Dustmatova was honoured for her contributions to the international Women Entrepreneurs Fintech initiative.
Among the top corporate projects were Payme/TBC, supported by Nodira Shermatova, and the Sogdiana Youth and Women’s Centre, led by Nargiza Rakhmanova, which was recognised as the best project to support women in Uzbekistan.
Main award winners
Anna Ambrozevich from Women in Tech Uzbekistan, Nasiba Mannopova from Women in Business CA, Ipotekabank OTP Group, Dana Oparina from Anchor Uz were recognised among Kursiv’s main Award winners.
The annual Award highlights women’s leadership and inspires Central Asian women to pursue new achievements. This year, over 50 applications were submitted, showcasing the increasing interest in this topic and the active involvement of women in key areas such as the economy, science, and the arts.
The Asian Development Bank, Coca-Cola and Huawei sponsored the First Among Equals Award.
