Plans Unveiled for a Smart City Development in Tashkent Region

Investors are showing interest in developing a Smart City in Tashkent Region, as discussed during a meeting on regional development with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Other projects attracting investor attention include a medical cluster and green power plants. Business representatives are also seeking sites to construct various enterprises and tourist complexes.

The President has instructed that buildings and land plots be auctioned off under favourable terms for entrepreneurs.

Tashkent Regions Khokim Zoyir Mirzayev presented a plan to attract $5 bn to the region’s economy, with exports projected to reach $2 bn. After reviewing the project, Mirziyoyev recommended developing additional initiatives in Parkent, Pskent and other cities within the republic.

Next year, 52,000 hectares will be utilised to organise three harvests annually, with plans to establish industrial orchards and vineyards on 5,000 hectares.

Lands across 22 regional districts and cities will be connected to processing and export enterprises, allowing for the export of $500 mln of fruits and vegetables.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that a youth center featuring co-working space will be constructed in Tashkent Region.
