Uzbekistan Aims for $1.2 Bn in Construction Materials Exports by 2025
Uzbekistan plans to export $1.2 bn worth of construction materials by 2025, as announced by Zhamshid Shermetov, spokesman for the Uzpromstroymaterialy association.
This year, the projected production volume of construction materials in the country is expected to reach 50 trillion soums. The association aims to produce the following quantities:
– 18 mln tonnes of cement
– 48.2 mln square meters of glass
– 52 mln square meters of ceramic tiles
– 95 mln square meters of plasterboard and other products
The industry will undertake 204 investment projects valued at $100 mln, creating jobs for 14,200 Uzbeks.
To enhance exports, Uzbek trading houses and warehouses will be established in Latvia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the United States, Russia and Afghanistan. These efforts are projected to generate an additional $250 mln in revenue for over 20 large Uzbek enterprises from sales to foreign buyers.
According to the association’s preliminary calculations, the total income of Uzbekistan’s construction sector will be approximately $2.4 bn.
