Uzbekistan and SUEZ Sign New Agreements for Water Sector Development

SUEZ, a global leader in the water and waste management sectors, has signed two new agreements with Uzbekistan to support the country’s environmental initiatives. These agreements align with Uzbekistan’s long-term strategy to improve water infrastructure and develop human capital in the sector.
Public-Private Partnership for water supply in Surxondaryo
SUEZ and UzSuvtaminot have signed a term sheet for a two-year service and supply contract in preparation for a long-term Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in four districts of Surxondaryo: Sariyoso, Denov, Shorchi, and Kumqorgon. The project aims to improve water supply services for 1 mln residents.
The agreement covers network improvements, equipment maintenance, and customer service enhancements. SUEZ will provide training and technical support to UzSuvtaminot Surxondaryo specialists and introduce advanced management tools such as GIS systems, hypervision, and metering technologies.
Educational partnership with TIIAME-NRU
SUEZ has also signed a framework agreement with the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanisation Engineers (TIIAME-NRU) to establish a university chair focused on water supply and wastewater management.
The cooperation aims to enhance the professional skills of students through educational and research initiatives, internships, and training within SUEZ projects in Uzbekistan. Additionally, SUEZ will support applications from Uzbek students for further studies in French universities.
