Mirziyoyev Awards Uzbekistan National Football Team with Honorary Title

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has officially recognised the success of the Uzbekistan national football team following their historic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In a presidential decree, the team’s head coach, players, and support staff were awarded national honors for their contributions.
Head coach Timur Kapadze and all team players received the prestigious honorary title «Uzbekiston Iftixori» (Pride of Uzbekistan). The recognition includes both key squad members and rising young talents who contributed to the team’s success in the Asian qualifiers.
Ravshan Irmatov, First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Football Association, was awarded the Order of Selfless Service (Fidokorona xizmatlari uchun) for his leadership.
International staff and assistant coaches, including Srečko Katanec, were honored with the Order of Friendship (Do‘stlik) in recognition of their efforts in preparing the team for the World Cup.
Team doctor Alisher Aripov received the Second-Class Order of Health (Salomatlik) for his medical support, while the physiotherapy team was awarded the Healthy Lifestyle medals (Sog‘lom turmush).
Additional Uzbekistan Football Association staff, administrators, translators, media specialists and even devoted fans—were recognized with the Shukhrat Medal for their active involvement in organizing and supporting the team’s preparation and promotion.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that AS Roma had congratulated Eldor Shomurodov on qualifying for the 2026 World Cup with the national team.
