US President Donald Trump has announced via Truth Social that he plans to sign the new budget and tax bill on July 4, America’s Independence Day.

He described the bill, passed by Congress, as «big and beautiful,» stating that its signing would mark the beginning of a new «Golden Age» for the United States.

The bill includes provisions to increase the national debt by $3.3 trillion and cut social spending while boosting defence expenditure.

However, the legislation has drawn criticism from one of Trump’s former allies — Elon Musk. The businessman previously labelled the bill «disgusting» and urged House Speaker Mike Johnson to preserve subsidies for Tesla in the final version of the law.

The disagreement between Trump and Musk escalated into a public conflict. Trump later threatened the entrepreneur with investigations by the Department of Energy (DOGE), noting that Musk’s companies had extensively benefited from federal subsidies.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Trump had denied claims of offering $30 bn to Iran for the development of a peaceful nuclear programme.
