Uzbekistan Signs $10 Mln Fruit Export Deal with Europe

Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector is set to benefit from new international partnerships following a successful business visit by a delegation from the Fergana region to Germany, Agronews reports. Key agreements were reached with Polish partners, marking a major step forward for local producers looking to expand into European markets.
A highlight of the trip was the signing of a $10 mln export contract between the Beshagro Eksport company, based in Besharyk district, and European buyers. The agreement will see locally produced dried fruits delivered to Europe, boosting trade ties and offering Fergana’s farmers new financial opportunities.
$15 Mln Fruit Processing Plant to Boost Local Economy
In addition to the export deal, a joint project has been announced to construct a fruit processing plant in Besharyk district, with a total investment of $15 mln. The facility will increase the volume of fruit processing in the region and is expected to create a significant number of new jobs.
This development aligns with efforts to modernise the region’s agricultural sector and raise production standards in line with international export requirements. By meeting high quality benchmarks, Fergana’s farmers will be able to compete more effectively on the global stage.
Gateway to Europe for Uzbekistan’s Fruit Sector
Fergana Valley, known for its rich fruit harvests, now has a direct route into the European market. This breakthrough not only strengthens Uzbekistan’s economic ties with the EU but also supports the financial stability and competitiveness of local growers.
The move is expected to enhance the livelihoods of farming communities, improve production infrastructure, and contribute to the long-term growth of the national economy.
Kursiv also reports that on July 1, a permanent showroom under the brand Made in Uzbekistan began operations at the Turkish Trade Centre in Baku.
