Manchester United delivered a confident performance against Bournemouth in the Summer Premier League series on July 31, 2025, securing a 4–1 win with contributions from four different goalscorers. The result showcased both sharp attacking play and disciplined organisation from Erik ten Hag’s side.

First Half: Early Pressure Puts United Ahead

The Red Devils took early control and were two goals up by half-time. Rasmus Højlund opened the scoring in the 8th minute, meeting Uttara’s free-kick with a powerful header after timing his run perfectly behind the defence.

Their lead doubled in the 27th minute, when Mason Mount delivered a precise set-piece to Patrick Dorgu, who beat the offside trap and calmly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Petrovic to make it 2–0.

Bournemouth attempted to respond through counterattacks, with Evanilson and Semenyo posing the main threat. A potential goal by Semenyo in the 30th minute was ruled out for offside. The first half ended on a concerning note after a head collision between Semenyo and Araujo in the 41st minute, which required medical attention.

Second Half: United Extend Lead Before Late Own Goal

United wasted no time pressing their advantage in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Casemiro sent a ball into the box, which deflected off multiple players before landing at the feet of Amad Diallo. The winger struck a composed finish into the far corner for 3–0.

Ethan Williams added a fourth in the 73rd minute. After collecting the ball on the wing, he cut inside and fired low past substitute keeper Dennis, who had replaced Petrovic.

Bournemouth managed a late consolation in the 89th minute, but not through their own doing. Following a cross from Brooks, Matthijs de Ligt accidentally turned the ball into his own net, making it 4–1.
