Lego has launched its most ambitious Star Wars set to date: a 9,023-piece Death Star model that towers over 2 feet tall and comes with a record-breaking 38 minifigures.

Part of the Ultimate Collector Series, the new Death Star recreates iconic scenes from A New Hope and Return of the Jedi. Fans will find detailed locations including the trash compactor, Leia’s cell block, Emperor Palpatine’s throne room, and the hangar bay with an Imperial Shuttle. Even Darth Vader’s meditation chamber and a tongue-in-cheek stormtrooper hot tub are included.

Collectors can also stage classic battles such as Darth Vader’s duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke and Leia’s daring swing across the reactor shaft.

At £899.99, the set is among Lego’s most expensive releases, though not the largest—Lego’s Eiffel Tower and Titanic still hold those records. To offset the hefty price tag, customers who purchase the set between October 1–7 will receive a free TIE Fighter with an Imperial Hangar Rack.

The Lego Death Star launches for Insiders members on October 1 and will be available for general release on October 4.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that A piece of film history has changed hands for a galactic price. Darth Vader’s original duelling lightsaber from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi has sold for $3.65 mln at a Propstore auction in Los Angeles, making it the most valuable Star Wars item ever auctioned.
