UzAuto Motors is currently working on eight new car models that will soon be introduced to the market, chief executive János Kovács has announced.

He explained that the company is expanding its range, with particular attention on producing more sport utility vehicles (SUVs).

At present, the plant has an annual production capacity of 550,000 vehicles. This year, 23,000 cars have been exported, and the company is preparing to enter new markets in Mongolia and Georgia.

Amid intensifying competition from foreign brands, UzAuto Motors is prioritising model updates and enhancing customer convenience. The best-selling Cobalt is being refreshed, while a new small commercial vehicle is under development in Khorezm.

The company has also launched a preferential loan programme to make purchases more accessible.

«This year we introduced a scheme where UzAuto covers part of the bank interest rates for buyers. Currently five banks are participating, but we plan to expand the number,» said Vadim Artamonov, the firm’s sales and after-sales director.

UzAuto Motors is also raising the level of localisation in production. At present, 58% of car parts come from domestic suppliers, and the company aims to increase this figure to 80% within three years.

Kursiv also reports that UzAuto Motors has officially introduced the Chevrolet Tahoe High Country to the Uzbek market.
