Pavel Durov Visits Kazakhstan, Meets Students Before Speaking at Digital Bridge 2025

Telegram founder Pavel Durov has once again travelled to Kazakhstan, where he met students at IQanat school in Astana before his appearance at the Digital Bridge forum.
The school confirmed his visit, saying Durov toured the campus, observed student life and spent several hours speaking with pupils in an informal setting.
«For 500 children from rural areas it was a true celebration, better than a birthday. A year ago Pavel joined the board of trustees and contributed more than $350,000 to support the education of 12 students from Kazakh villages,» IQanat said in a statement.
On October 2, 2025, Durov will take part in the Digital Bridge forum, an event confirmed by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiev, who said the Telegram CEO would join the plenary session.
Pavel Durov currently is at the forum. Press service of Kassym-Jomart Toayev shared his photo:

The IQanat High School of Burabay is a private boarding school for gifted 10th and 11th grade students. According to Kursiv, up to 600 children from rural areas across Kazakhstan will gain access to quality education each year at the school’s new campus in Borovoe. The facility, worth 2.7 bn tenge, was built with funding from Kazakh entrepreneur and school trustee Timur Turlov.
Kursiv also reports that Pavel Durov said his personal wealth comes mainly from Bitcoin, not from the messaging app.
