Uzbekistan’s Environment Minister Strengthens Green Cooperation with UAE During Dubai Visit

Aziz Abdulkhakimov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, paid an official visit to the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment in Dubai on Wednesday, highlighting growing eco-diplomacy between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
Abdulkhakimov, accompanied by Ambassador Abdulaziz Akkulov and advisor Alisher Salomov, presented Uzbekistan’s latest environmental projects focused on sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, desertification control, and climate change mitigation.
Dr. Mohamed Ahmed bin Fahad, Chairman of the Zayed Foundation, welcomed the delegation and praised Uzbekistan’s efforts in advancing regional environmental initiatives. He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to expanding international cooperation and sharing expertise in environmental protection.
During the meeting, Abdulkhakimov invited Dr. bin Fahad to attend the CITES COP20 High-Level Segment in Samarkand this November and the Eco Expo Central Asia scheduled for May–June 2026, both designed to foster dialogue on sustainable innovation and wildlife conservation.
The visit underscored the strengthening environmental partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE, reflecting their shared commitment to sustainability and global climate action.
