Kyrgyzstan Prepares to Launch National Blockchain Platform

Kyrgyzstan is getting ready to test its national blockchain platform. The pilot project will run for nine months. The announcement came from Farhat Iminov, head of the Secretariat for the Development of Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to Iminov, the blockchain infrastructure is already complete. The next stage will test solutions for the country’s digital som (CBDC) and a national stablecoin.
He said the project also creates new opportunities through cooperation with the global crypto exchange Binance. Kyrgyz citizens will be able to open crypto wallets, buy and convert assets directly, and avoid using exchange offices.
In the future, Kyrgyzstan’s CBDC and stablecoin are expected to trade with other cryptocurrencies on Binance. This should help form a full ecosystem for digital payments and investments.
Iminov noted that EU sanctions on Russia’s digital ruble and some Kyrgyz banks will not affect the local crypto market.
«Our projects are based on a local ecosystem and do not depend on any country,» he said.
Kyrgyzstan now ranks 19th in the world for crypto adoption. About 63.5% of the population is familiar with digital assets — a level similar to Dubai. The government also plans to launch an online platform in the Kyrgyz language, where citizens can learn about cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital technologies for free.
