Riyadh 2025: Akbar Juraev Becomes Six-Time Islamic Solidarity Games Champion

Uzbek weightlifter Akbar Juraev delivered an outstanding performance at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Representing Uzbekistan, Juraev dominated the competition in the under-110 kg weight class, winning three gold medals and becoming the absolute champion.

Competing in the –110 kg category, Juraev showcased exceptional form. He lifted 193 kg in the snatch and 227 kg in the clean and jerk. His combined total of 420 kg was the best of the tournament, reaffirming his status as one of the world’s strongest weightlifters.

With this victory, Juraev secured the sixth gold medal of his career at the Islamic Solidarity Games.

  • Snatch: 193 kg
  • Clean and Jerk: 227 kg
  • Total: 420 kg

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that the national team, Eldor UsmonovIlya SibircevAblulazizbek Abdumajidov and Mikhail Kleshko, delivered a strong result, finishing behind Iran and Turkey to take third place and add another medal to Uzbekistan’s tally.
