Kendrick Lamar has officially become the most-awarded hip-hop artist in Grammy history after adding four more trophies to his collection.
The rapper won best rap album for GNX, best rap song for TV Off, melodic rap performance for Luther and best rap performance for his feature on Clipse’s Chains & Whips. The wins lifted his career total to 26 Grammys, moving him ahead of Jay-Z on 25 and Kanye West on 24.
Lamar could yet extend his lead, with major categories including album of the year, song of the year and record of the year still to be announced.

Accepting the award for best rap album, Lamar kept his remarks brief. «It is hip-hop as usual,» he said, adding that he prefers to express himself through music rather than speeches. He thanked the culture and credited hip-hop for its enduring presence, closing by giving praise and gratitude to those around him.
Lamar entered the ceremony with 22 wins and 57 career nominations. This year, he was shortlisted in nine categories, including the top general awards. Before the main CBS broadcast began, he had already collected three prizes, having been the third-most awarded rapper heading into the night.
His dominance follows last year’s success with Not Like Us, a Drake diss track that swept five Grammy categories on its own. Lamar has now won best rap album three times, for To Pimp a Butterfly, DAMN. and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
His 2012 debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city remains a notable moment in Grammy history after losing to The Heist by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, a decision that sparked widespread criticism and prompted Macklemore to privately tell Lamar, «You got robbed.»
