President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated the nation on the occasion of the Ramadan Hayit holiday.

«In these wonderful moments, we thank the Almighty for the peace and tranquility on our land. Following the tradition established in recent years, this year as well we, together with all our people, have carried out many good deeds to observe the holy month of Ramadan,» the head of state said.

Approximately 1 trillion Uzbek soums (UZS) were allocated to support low-income families and the sick. Of this amount, 450 bn soums were directed to assist more than 600,000 families in need. In addition, 6,000 patients received medical care, including complex surgeries.

During Ramadan, around 100,000 gifts were distributed, and more than 30,000 charitable iftar meals were organized both within Uzbekistan and abroad.

«During this great holiday, we wish for the swift cessation of all wars and conflicts in different regions of the world, and a peaceful and calm life for all peoples. Taking this opportunity, we extend our greetings and sincere congratulations to the entire Muslim ummah in both near and far abroad,» the president underlined.

Mirziyoyev also stressed the importance of preserving peace and stability, particularly amid a complex international environment. He concluded by wishing everyone good health, happiness and prosperity, as well as peace for all nations around the world.
