Jack Doohan has confirmed he will compete in the 2026 European Le Mans Series, marking a shift to endurance racing following his departure from Formula 1.

The Australian, now a reserve driver for Haas F1 Team, will race for Nielsen Racing in the LMP2 category. He is set to share the team’s No. 24 Oreca 07 with Britain’s Ed Pearson and Israel’s Roy Nissany.

«I’m really excited to be back racing in 2026 and to be joining Nielsen Racing for my first season in LMP2,» said Doohan.

He highlighted the opportunity to learn quickly and build strong teamwork alongside his new team-mates. He also described the Oreca 07 as a significantly different challenge compared with single-seater racing.

The 2026 ELMS campaign is due to begin on April 12 with the 4 Hours of Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Despite his move into endurance racing, Doohan will continue his role with Haas, where he serves as one of the team’s reserve drivers alongside Ryo Hirakawa.

With Hirakawa competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship on alternate weekends, Haas is expected to maintain consistent driver cover throughout the season.
