Following the death of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne last year, the historic Los Angeles estate he shared with his wife Sharon has returned to the property market with a $17 mln price tag.

Property records show the couple purchased the 1920s Hancock Park residence for $11.85 mln in 2015. They had previously considered selling the home prior to the Black Sabbath frontman’s passing, initially listing it for $18 mln in July 2022.

The asking price was later reduced to $17.5 mln before the property was withdrawn from the market entirely.

At that time, the couple were weighing up a permanent relocation to their estate in Buckinghamshire but ultimately decided against the move, according to listing agent Jonah Wilson of Carolwood Estates who shares the instruction with his colleague Josh Greer.

Sharon is now reportedly splitting her time between Los Angeles and the UK. Representatives for the television personality did not respond to requests for comment.

Inside the historic Hancock Park estate

The exclusive Hancock Park neighbourhood sits around five miles from downtown Los Angeles. The half-acre Osbourne property features a sprawling 10,200-square-foot main residence and a separate guesthouse.

The couple spent years carefully renovating the property while maintaining its early 20th-century architectural charm. According to Greer, Sharon personally redesigned the kitchen to better reflect the home’s 1920s heritage after deciding a previous renovation felt far too modern.

A standout feature is the red velvet-clad home cinema, which boasts signatures from legendary visitors including Elvis Presley, Mel Tormé and Natalie Wood above the fireplace. The tradition was initiated by former owner and radio host Frank Bresee and proudly maintained by the Osbournes.

Other luxurious updates across the estate include:

  • Hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper in the primary suite
  • A fully renovated guesthouse
  • A newly installed mosaic-tile swimming pool
  • An outdoor loggia featuring black-and-white checked flooring and a fireplace imported from Europe

A rock legacy

Ozzy Osbourne, who revealed his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020, passed away in July 2025. His death came shortly after a final charity concert in Birmingham that raised millions for causes such as Cure Parkinson’s. He was laid to rest at the family’s Buckinghamshire estate.

The heavy metal pioneer and his wife famously starred in the hit MTV reality series The Osbournes, which was filmed at a Beverly Hills property they eventually sold in 2007.

According to Greer, the record for the most expensive home sale in Hancock Park currently stands at $23 mln following a deal completed last year.
