Kazakhstan’s Turkistan to Host Informal Summit of Turkic States Focused on AI

The Kazakh city of Turkistan is set to host an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on May 15.
The high-level event will bring together the heads of both member and observer states alongside the organisation’s secretary general and the Council of Elders. A dedicated meeting of OTS foreign ministers will also take place ahead of the main summit to lay the groundwork for the leadership discussions.
According to the OTS press service, the primary agenda for the upcoming talks will centre heavily on artificial intelligence, digital innovation and the integration of modern technologies.
Representatives will explore how these technological advancements can be leveraged to drive sustainable economic growth, elevate the quality of public services and strengthen overall regional connectivity.
This tech-focused agenda marks a distinct shift from the previous informal summit held last May in the Hungarian capital of Budapest, which predominantly concentrated on broader global and regional geopolitical issues.
The Organization of Turkic States serves as a major geopolitical platform designed to foster deep cooperation across political, economic, cultural, educational and security sectors among Turkic-speaking nations.
Its core membership comprises Turkey and several Central Asian republics including Uzbekistan. Additionally, Hungary and Turkmenistan currently participate in the growing geopolitical bloc under observer status.
