Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse confirmed they are starting a family. The 33-year-old actor and his 32-year-old model wife shared the joyful news while walking the red carpet at the 79th Cannes Film Festival in France on Thursday May 14, People reports.
Posing happily for the cameras, Palvin debuted her blossoming baby bump in an elegant light blue gown featuring cap sleeves and a striking feather skirt. She kept a protective hand cradling her stomach throughout the event. Sprouse stood proudly by her side in a classic tuxedo with his arm affectionately wrapped around his wife.
The love story
The couple’s love story began after they crossed paths at a party in 2017 before officially starting their relationship in June 2018. Speaking to Vogue Australia later that year, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel declared she was «very much in love» and described the former The Suite Life of Zack and Cody star as «the perfect guy» who is incredibly kind and gentle. Following a June 2023 engagement, the pair tied the knot just a month later during a romantic ceremony in Palvin’s native Hungary.
Throughout their romance, the duo has never shied away from public displays of support. When Palvin walked the runway for the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Sprouse sent a heartfelt public message cheering her on, a gesture made even sweeter by the revelation that she had fractured her foot just four weeks prior.
The couple has also been open about how they make their marriage work. During a February 2025 interview to promote their Dress to Express campaign, they revealed a strict rule to ensure their relationship thrives despite busy international schedules: they never spend more than two to three weeks apart. Palvin noted that whether he is on a film set or she is travelling for a photoshoot, they always make the effort to visit one another.
Palvin’s health
This pregnancy announcement follows a challenging health journey for the Hungarian model. In August of last year, Palvin took to Instagram to reveal she had undergone surgery for endometriosis. Opening up about her debilitating symptoms, she candidly described experiencing extreme fatigue, severe pain, irregular cycles and «sleepless nights on the bathroom floor».
Palvin explained that despite regular visits to her gynaecologist, her condition went undetected until she sought out a specialist as routine exams cannot definitively diagnose the illness. Expressing her immense gratitude for the life-changing procedure, she used her platform to stress the importance of early diagnosis to prevent long-term complications. With her health struggles behind her, the couple is now embarking on their most exciting chapter yet as they prepare for parenthood.
