Colombia began their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan, with goals from Daniel Munoz, Luis Diaz and Jaminton Campaz helping Nestor Lorenzo’s side take control of Group K. The South Americans currently sit top of the group and are aiming to move closer to qualification for the knockout stage.

DR Congo, meanwhile, earned a historic 1-1 draw against Portugal, securing their first-ever World Cup point. Yoane Wissa scored the African nation’s maiden World Cup goal as Sebastien Desabre’s team impressed with its tactical discipline and resilience.

Bookmakers and prediction models largely favor Colombia ahead of the clash. Most markets price the South Americans as clear favorites, while several forecasting models give them roughly a two-thirds chance of victory.

The match, scheduled for June 23 in Guadalajara, Mexico, could prove decisive in the battle for qualification from Group K, which also includes Portugal and Uzbekistan.
