Uzbekistan Passport Holds Steady at 123rd in 2026 Global Passport Index

The passport of Uzbekistan has retained its position at 123rd out of 197 countries and territories in the 2026 Global Passport Index published by Global Citizen Solutions. The republic remains in the exact same spot it held in the previous year’s rankings indicating a period of stability for the nation’s global mobility status.
While the overall ranking remained static, the report provided a detailed breakdown of the passport’s strength across several specific metrics. Uzbekistan was placed 89th for investment attractiveness, 119th for quality of life, 129th for freedom of movement.
Currently, holders of an Uzbek passport enjoy visa-free access to exactly 30 countries. In the wider global context the nation sits wedged between Morocco in 122nd place and Namibia which took the 124th spot.
At the top of the index European nations continue to dominate the mobility landscape. Sweden secured the highly coveted first place followed closely by Switzerland and Finland.
Conversely the bottom of the table is occupied by nations facing significant ongoing instability. South Sudan, Somalia and Afghanistan were ranked at the very bottom taking 195th, 196th and 197th places respectively.
Unlike traditional rankings that focus solely on how many borders a passport can cross without a visa, the Global Passport Index utilises a more comprehensive evaluation system. A passport’s freedom of movement accounts for half of the final score while the remaining 50% is split equally between assessing the country’s investment conditions and its general quality of life.
