Uzbekistan national team footballer Abbosbek Fayzullaev hosted a traditional wedding plov in Tashkent.
Guests at the event included teammate Abdukodir Khusanov and Otabek Umarov, the first deputy chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. The Tashkent gathering followed earlier festivities in the city of Guliston.
According to Sports.kz, the midfielder held his engagement ceremony in May. His fiancee is from the Namangan region. Fayzullaev previously dedicated his recent goal against Colombia at the World Cup to his family and future wife.
During the tournament, Fayzullaev became the first player from Uzbekistan to score at a World Cup, netting the team’s only goal in a 3-1 defeat to Colombia. He made his senior international debut on June 11, 2023, against Oman and scored his first goal six days later against Tajikistan.
Born in the Sirdaryo region on October 3, 2003, Fayzullaev moved to Tashkent as a child to train at the Pakhtakor football academy. He lived with his uncle in the capital and developed his early skills playing on a makeshift pitch, where his father occasionally joined matches as a goalkeeper.
