Connor Murphy, an American social media personality famous for his bodybuilding and looksmaxxing workout content, has died in Thailand. The influencer drowned on July 7 in a Samut Prakan province lake after fleeing from local authorities. He was believed to be either 31 or 32 years old.
Emergency responders retrieved his remains from depths exceeding 10 metres in the Bang Phli district. The fatal incident unfolded when police were dispatched to a luxury residential complex following reports of a foreign national causing a severe public disturbance.
A local estate worker recorded the fitness enthusiast exhibiting highly unpredictable conduct on the street. Video footage captured him rolling on the tarmac, shouting, aggressively approaching vehicles and making repeated praying motions. He also attempted to force cash onto a passing motorist.
Evading police and tragic drowning
Upon seeing police officers arrive to de-escalate the situation, Murphy bolted into the private neighbourhood and threw himself into a nearby lake. Eyewitnesses reported he swam forcefully until his energy depleted and he slipped beneath the surface.
Dive teams summoned to the emergency located his body half an hour later roughly 20 metres from the shoreline. First responders noted no immediate signs of physical trauma or foul play on his person.

Vandalised property and unanswered questions
A subsequent search of his $600,000 rental home deepened the mystery surrounding his final hours. Detectives discovered extensive vandalism inside the property, noting paint indiscriminately smeared across domestic appliances and expensive furniture.
The investigation extended to his vehicle where officers uncovered a waist bag containing unidentified pills alongside two unused syringes. Authorities stressed these items cannot yet definitively explain his actions or confirm his official cause of death.
Despite the discovery of medical paraphernalia, Murphy’s 22-year-old girlfriend expressed bewilderment over his final day. The woman, who recently reunited with him after three years of dating, told local outlet ThaiRath she had never witnessed him consuming illicit substances.
As of publication, his family and representatives have not issued a public statement. Medical examiners are conducting a comprehensive autopsy and toxicology screenings to establish the exact cause of death while U.S. Embassy officials monitor the ongoing inquiry.
