The music label introduced the trio through a cinematic short film titled «Error 502: Bad Gateway» posted across its official social media platforms. Borrowing its name from a standard internet communication failure, the video depicts the artists navigating a glitch-heavy landscape before finally discovering one another. Understated narration accompanies the footage to establish the ensemble’s overarching fictional universe.
This live-action reveal definitively answers questions surrounding the project’s format. Prior to Thursday, the agency ran a cryptic marketing campaign consisting of a logo motion graphic and a superhero-themed animated series. The cartoon focused on three fictional characters named Cherysha, Groovlu and i-yat without showing any human performers. This unusual strategy led fans to debate whether the label was developing a virtual idol act or a standalone animation franchise.
OurBirthday is the company’s first female outfit to launch since Nmixx in 2022. The agency maintains a prominent industry track record with previous successful rosters including Wonder Girls, Miss A, Twice, NiziU and Itzy.
