
The upcoming Google Pixel Watch 5 will reportedly feature a significant memory upgrade to support new artificial intelligence tools despite retaining its predecessor’s core processor.
A recent Google Play Console listing reveals the wearable device, operating under the codename «godric,» will ship with 3GB of RAM. This marks the product line’s first memory increase since Google entered the smartwatch market and is expected to facilitate advanced Gemini Intelligence capabilities.
Whilst the expanded memory provides a performance boost, the listing indicates Google will reuse the Qualcomm SW5100 platform seen in the Pixel Watch 2, 3 and 4. The leak confirms the device relies on the identical quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and Qualcomm Adreno 702 graphics unit used last year.
The Pixel Watch 4 previously introduced the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip to support Satellite SOS alongside an upgraded M55 co-processor. The current database entry does not specify if the Pixel Watch 5 includes a newer co-processor, though the primary architecture clearly remains unchanged.
This hardware strategy contrasts with industry competitors. Samsung’s rival Galaxy Watch 9 utilises a more advanced 3nm Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, although it remains capped at 2GB of RAM.
Beyond internal specifications, leaked imagery attached to the console listing suggests the physical chassis remains identical to previous generations. However, the render displays a new analogue watch face that showcases Gemini’s Neural Expressive design language.
