The BBC has published a documentary in which 10 women describe encounters with actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto, including four allegations that involve conduct they believe amounted to criminal sexual offences.

The women say the encounters took place between 2002 and 2016, when Leto was in his 30s and 40s. Several say they were teenagers at the time.

According to the documentary, one woman alleges she was sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom in Las Vegas when she was 17. Another says Leto threatened her with sexual assault after she was left alone with him in a hotel room in London at the age of 19.

A third woman says she had sex with Leto in California when she was 17 and that he dismissed concerns about the state’s age of consent.

«Age is just a number, and anyway, we’re in Europe,» he told her.

A fourth says she was groomed through repeated sexually explicit phone calls when she was 16 and was later sent a non-disclosure agreement, which she refused to sign.

Leto has not responded to the allegations put to him by the BBC, despite repeated attempts to contact him, the broadcaster said.

Accounts supported by messages and witnesses

The BBC said it corroborated parts of several women’s accounts through friends and family members who were told about the incidents at the time. In some cases, it also reviewed photographs, text messages and emails that supported elements of the allegations.

Two former members of the band’s crew told the documentary that staff had been uncomfortable with the way Leto interacted with teenage girls. They said girls were sometimes invited backstage or to locations where the band was recording.

One former crew member said requests for female models to receive VIP tickets came directly from Leto during arena tours in the 2010s. Another described a regular flow of young women visiting a house where the band was working.

Previous allegations and renewed scrutiny

The documentary also revisits earlier accusations against Leto. The BBC said it identified more than 120 allegations posted online concerning his behaviour towards women, though many are historical and unverified.

Last year, a Los Angeles DJ publicly alleged that Leto assaulted her when she was 17, prompting other women to share similar claims. Leto denied allegations made in a separate 2025 article by U.S. outlet Air Mail, in which nine women accused him of sexual impropriety.

Jared Leto, 54, has been a prominent actor since the 1990s and won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for Dallas Buyers Club in 2014. His recent film credits include Blade Runner 2049, Suicide Squad and Masters of the Universe.

Thirty Seconds to Mars, formed in 1998, is scheduled to tour the UK and mainland Europe next spring, including concerts in London and Manchester.

Kursiv also reports that D4vd will face a jury over the slaying of an adolescent girl following a recent court decision. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo gave the green light for prosecutors to pursue their case against the 21-year-old performer.
