Natalie Portman is documenting the final stages of her third pregnancy.
On Wednesday, July 29, the 45-year-old actor posted an Instagram photograph highlighting her bare stomach. Standing on a balcony dressed in an unbuttoned oversized blue shirt, she captioned the image, «Counting the days until we meet you,» alongside a pink heart emoji and a photography credit for Shelby Duncan.
The social media update drew immediate and supportive comments from her industry peers. Macaulay Culkin replied with «Gee whiz» while Jennifer Garner left multiple heart emojis beneath the post.
Portman is currently expecting her first child with her partner Tanguy Destable. She already shares a 14-year-old son, Aleph, and a 9-year-old daughter, Amalia, with her former husband Benjamin Millepied.
The «Black Swan» star initially announced her impending arrival during an exclusive April interview with Harper’s Bazaar. As the daughter of a fertility doctor, she emphasised her deep understanding of reproductive challenges and the profound privilege of expanding her family. She acknowledged that falling pregnant is not a simple process for everyone and expressed a desire to remain respectful of those who struggle with fertility issues.
Finding calm in the French capital
Portman noted that age and experience have brought a renewed perspective to this pregnancy. Recognising this will likely be her final time having a baby, she described the current journey as a significantly calmer experience compared to her earlier years. She added that she now has a better understanding of herself and the type of energy she wants to surround herself with.
The «Thor: Love and Thunder» actor has spent recent months focusing on her family in France after wrapping up several professional film projects. Her wellness routine includes swimming and gyrotonics to maintain physical strength during the third trimester.
Beyond fitness, she has taken advantage of the favourable Parisian spring weather to spend time with her children, visit local parks and view art exhibitions.
Portman also highlighted a lighthearted difference between French and American medical practices regarding human gestation. Because local doctors consider full-term to be 41 weeks rather than the standard 40, she joked about receiving an extra week to be pregnant before the baby arrives.
