Apple’s rumoured first foldable iPhone may arrive in silver and dark blue, according to new images shared by well-known Apple leaker Sonny Dickson.
Dickson posted photographs of camera-protection glass reportedly made for the upcoming device. The pieces appear to show two different finishes, with shades resembling silver and dark blue. The images could offer an early indication of Apple’s colour plans, although the company has not confirmed the phone or its specifications.

Previous reports have pointed to a more limited colour selection. One rumour suggested the foldable could launch in black and white, while another claimed Apple might offer the device exclusively in silver. MacRumors has also reported on earlier leaks pointing to silver or white alongside an indigo shade similar to the dark blue used on recent iPhone Pro models.
iPhone Ultra expected to target premium market
The device, widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold, is expected to use a book-style design rather than the clamshell format seen on Apple’s smaller foldable rivals.
Current reports point to a roughly 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch internal screen when unfolded. The phone is also expected to be exceptionally thin, with some reports suggesting a thickness of less than 5mm when open.

The foldable is expected to use Apple’s A20 chip and 12GB of RAM, putting it alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in terms of core hardware. Reports also suggest Apple could replace Face ID with Touch ID built into the side button to accommodate the phone’s slim design.
Camera hardware could include two 48-megapixel rear cameras, while the foldable is expected to prioritise a thin design over a larger multi-camera system. A high-density battery is also reportedly being developed to maximise capacity within the limited space available.

Launch could be announced in September but availability may be limited
Apple is widely expected to unveil the foldable alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September. Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested, however, that the announcement and retail launch may not happen at the same time, with pre-orders potentially pushed into the fourth quarter because of production constraints.
Kuo has estimated a starting price of about $2,299 to $2,499, placing the foldable well above Apple’s existing iPhone range. Supply could also be tight initially, with reports suggesting Apple may struggle to produce enough units for launch demand.
The timing could become particularly important because Apple is also facing pressure across its conventional flagship range. A shortage of DRAM has reportedly created a bottleneck in the production of components for the iPhone 18 Pro, while Apple is exploring additional memory suppliers as AI-related demand puts pressure on global chip supplies.
That supply pressure could make the iPhone Ultra an even harder device to find when it eventually reaches customers. For now, however, its final name, colours, price and release schedule remain unconfirmed by Apple.
