Xiaomi has unveiled two additional colour options for the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Fold, expanding the foldable’s design choices just days before its official launch.

The company previously showed the handset in a deep red finish. Xiaomi President Lu Weibing has now presented a black version and a gold-and-white model, giving buyers a choice between a more conventional look and a lighter premium design.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is scheduled to launch on September 7 in China. Xiaomi has described the device as a new type of foldable called a «mid-fold», positioned between a conventional smartphone and the larger book-style models already on the market.

The device has a 5.38-inch outer display and a 7.58-inch internal screen with a 2:1 aspect ratio. Its shorter and wider proportions are intended to make the phone more manageable when closed while providing a larger workspace when unfolded.

The 18 Fold will also become the first Xiaomi smartphone to use the company’s XRing O3 processor. It is expected to support LPDDR6 memory, while software is set to include Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 and on-device AI features.

Large battery and Leica camera system

Xiaomi has confirmed a 6,000mAh battery for the foldable, with support for 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The company is also using a high-density battery design to fit the larger capacity into the device’s foldable body.

The rear camera system includes a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom. Leica Summilux lenses are used across the three-camera system.

Other confirmed hardware details include a new «dragon-bone» hinge, dual-layer ultra-thin glass for the folding display and a 7-series aluminium alloy frame. Xiaomi claims the combination improves the phone’s structural durability and drop resistance.

With the official presentation only days away, Xiaomi has already revealed much of the 18 Fold’s core hardware. The remaining questions are expected to centre on pricing, memory configurations and whether the new foldable will receive a wider international release.
