Brazilian fans of the K-pop girl group Aespa are threatening legal action and demanding refunds from Live Nation Brazil and SM Entertainment over an unsatisfactory VIP package at a recent concert.

Attendees raised complaints shortly after the Sao Paulo show, stating the premium VIP send-off provided significantly less interaction than advertised. Videos circulating online show band members Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning briefly walking past fans gathered in a passageway, with interactions lasting only a few seconds.

Additionally, several ticket holders claimed they did not receive the exclusive merchandise included in the VIP tier.

Comparison to Chile

The backlash intensified after Aespa performed in Chile on September 6. Footage from the subsequent show revealed the band stopping to pose for photographs, sign autographs and spend considerably more time interacting with attendees.

Fan page Info Aespa Brasil published videos contrasting the two events and called on organisers to compensate affected ticket holders.

«With the videos in hand, we are going after our money back,» the group stated online. «We’re not asking for special treatment. We’re asking for what we paid to receive.»

Some fans noted that the logistical circumstances surrounding the Sao Paulo venue differed from the Chile concert, potentially affecting the send-off structure. The Brazilian performance drew a massive crowd of approximately 21,600 people. This represents nearly triple the 8,000 attendees at the group’s 2023 solo debut in the country and stands as the second-largest Brazilian audience for a K-pop girl group behind Twice.
