Anthropic is hiring in Singapore as Claude use outpaces size

Anthropic is hiring local staff in Singapore ahead of an October office opening, CNA reports. Its usage data rank the city-state second among 121 countries for Claude.ai activity relative to population.

CNA has checked Anthropic’s careers website, finding nine Singapore-based vacancies across applied AI, finance, marketing and brand, public benefit and sales.

Dale Finlay will lead the regional business as general manager for ASEAN, based in Singapore, according to The Business Times. His previous experience includes nearly a decade at Google Cloud, where he worked with enterprise customers, financial services and AI across Asia-Pacific.

The Singapore office will be Anthropic’s fifth in Indo-Pacific, joining Tokyo, Bengaluru, Seoul and Sydney. The company says it is responding to enterprise demand, particularly from financial services and government organisations.

Why Anthropic is adding a Singapore base

According to the company’s Economic Index, Singapore’s use of Claude is 5.81 times what is expected based on its share of the population. This measures activity relative to population; it does not mean The nation has the second-largest absolute number of users or that the same proportion of residents use Claude.

The new Singapore office lead, Finlay, has framed trust and integration into everyday operations as central challenges for customers adopting AI. The local team intends to work with organisations ranging from start-ups to large companies and the public sector.

Senior executives are due to visit for the October opening and meet customers, partners and policymakers. The company had not confirmed the office’s exact location in the reporting available on 16 September.
