Samsung has started bringing One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26 series. Owners can access features introduced on the latest foldables without having to replace their phones.
The rollout begins on 16 September for the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. Other Galaxy devices will follow gradually, but Samsung has not published a complete timetable in the announcement.
For users, the useful question is which everyday jobs become easier. The update covers video editing, personalised briefings and device support, although feature availability depends on the phone and market.
Galaxy AI tackles fiddly jobs
One example is My FanCam. Samsung says it tracks a chosen person in recorded footage and reframes the video for different formats. That could save repeated cropping when turning a performance or sports clip into a social post.
Now Brief offers customisable information cards, including security and privacy updates. Now Nudge supplies suggestions suited to what the user is doing, rather than requiring them to open another tool. Samsung introduced these additions during August’s beta programme.

There are conditions: these tools require a Samsung account. Now Nudge works with supported apps, and Samsung does not guarantee AI accuracy.
A less flashy addition is Warranty and Care in Settings: a place for diagnostics, warranty details, repair estimates and service bookings. Privacy Alerts also use on-device AI to flag potentially unnecessary background permission access. Both come with availability limits.

Check your Galaxy AI features, not just the version number
Older-device owners should distinguish testing from general availability. Samsung’s September beta expansion covers the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 FE, Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 in selected markets. That announcement is not a stable release date for every owner.
Country restrictions matter too. Samsung names Japan, Canada and India for the latest Scam Detection expansion. Uzbekistan is not named in that expansion; a One UI 9 download alone should not be taken as confirmation that the feature is available locally.
