The Nobel winner behind the books

Pamuk, an Istanbul native, won the Nobel Prize in Literature back in 2006. His fiction explores identity, Istanbul and the tensions between different cultures and traditions; My Name Is Red helped establish his international reputation.

Readers discovering him through Ercel’s photographs can also find his work on screen. Netflix’s The Museum of Innocence adapts his novel about love and obsession in 1970s Istanbul, starring Selahattin Paşalı and Eylül Lize Kandemir.
