MrBeast has made a career out of surprising others. Uzbekistan managed to surprise him back: the YouTube star, who has over 520 million subscribers, admitted he had no idea how many people in the country watched his content.

In Instagram Stories shared during his visit, Jimmy Donaldson — better known as MrBeast — posted footage of crowds gathered in Tashkent and remarked on the size of his Uzbek audience, Kursiv Uzbekistan reported.

«I didn’t know how many people in Uzbekistan watch our videos,» he told his 92 million followers on Instagram.

Uzbekistan was already watching

MrBeast arrived in Uzbekistan on 9 October, greeting supporters and posing for photographs at Tashkent airport. It was his first trip to Central Asia, according to the Tourism Committee.

The visit was arranged by Uzbekistan’s Art and Culture Development Foundation in cooperation with the Tourism Committee, which hopes his enormous international audience will help introduce the country to potential visitors.
