Green Energy Production More than Doubled in Uzbekistan

Uzbekhydroenergo reports that the combined energy production by solar and wind power plants has reached 3 billion kWh since the beginning of 2024.

In the first eight months of this year, solar and wind power plants produced almost 2.5 times more electricity than in 2023, totaling 1.2 billion kWh.

Nine solar and one wind farms operate in seven regions of Uzbekistan, with a total capacity of 2.6 GW. Additionally, a large number of small solar power plants and solar panels have been installed at industrial enterprises and homes in Uzbekistan.

By 2030, the capacity of alternative energy in Uzbekistan is planned to reach 27 GW.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reported the start of construction of a 200 MW solar power plant in the Fergana region in late 2024.
