IAEA General Director Rafael Grossi Plans to Visit Uzbekistan

IAEA General Director Rafael Grossi plans to visit Uzbekistan, as reported by the press service of the Atomic Energy Agency of Uzbekistan.

The Agency’s director, Azim Akhmedkhadzhaev, met with Grossi in Vienna on September 17 to discuss joint activities with the IAEA to promote nuclear technologies, including small modular reactors.

According to the report, the visit dates have not been specified.

The plans for the construction of the Jizzak Nuclear Power Plant were established in August of this year.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reported that the first Nuclear Power Plant is to be founded in Uzbekistan.
