The Agency for the Development of Atomic Energy in Uzbekistan will collaborate with Rosatom to implement advanced nuclear technologies, as reported by RIA Novosti.

During the Russian Energy Week in Moscow, the Director of Uzatom, Azim Akhmedhajayev, met with his Russian counterpart, Aleksei Likhachev. They discussed joint initiatives in the nuclear industry, including nuclear safety, joint infrastructure, and participation in international initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Uzbekistan and Rosatom agreed to build a small nuclear power plant in the Jizak region. In early September, the parties signed a protocol to commence construction work.
