The Ministry of Digital Technologies will receive a $50 million loan for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Uzbekistan, as stated in a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The ministry will start receiving the funds at the beginning of next year. The loan, which has a five-year term, will be repaid through the Digital Technology Development Fund and other sources of financing.

The decree also outlines priority areas for AI implementation in the country up to 2026. Over the next two years, AI is set to be introduced in the banking and financial sectors, healthcare, and agriculture.
