Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to impose charges on carriers on an equal basis starting next year, according to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between representatives of the two countries’ ministries in Bukhara.
To quickly address transportation issues, Tashkent and Ashgabat also plan to establish a working group and implement the electronic document management system, E-permit.
Earlier this year, the Telegram portal LogiStan reported that Tashkent had restricted entry for carriers from Turkmenistan.
Subsequently, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport stated that negotiations were ongoing with Ashgabat to ensure equitable conditions for cargo transportation.
