The United States, South Korea, and Japan held joint military exercises, as reported by Yonhap.
South Korean officials confirmed that at least one American B-1B strategic bomber took part in the drills, practising strikes on simulated targets, although they did not specify the number of targets.
The exercises occurred east of Jeju Island. These drills responded directly to North Korea’s launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, which the news agency described as a “demonstration of strength.”
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports on North Korea’s launch of a long-range missile.
