Competition Committee Exposes 328 Violations in Dietary Supplement Advertising

The committee carried out over 2,000 inspections in total

The Competition Committee of Uzbekistan organised 2,205 inspections of advertising materials since the beginning of the year, uncovering 328 violations. Companies that failed to correct the identified issues voluntarily have faced administrative penalties.

For instance, Taraqqiyot TV in Andijan Oblast discovered an advertisement for the supplement Komus that contained exaggerated and misleading claims. The advertisement was removed from the air following an investigation, and a case was initiated against the TV and radio company.

In Tashkent, the newspaper Zhit Zdorovliy identified a violation in an advertisement for Neoflex. As a result, Pakstampa LLC was fined, and administrative measures were implemented.

In Namangan Oblast, the TV channel Makhalla aired inaccurate advertisements for Fito-Plus and Haemorroid supplements. HERBAL Med LLC was instructed to rectify the violations, and the advertisement was subsequently taken off the air.

In the Samarkand and Syrdarya regions, misleading advertisements for Disaar and No Diabetes were found, primarily distributed through popular Telegram channels.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that hydration supplements have been withdrawn from retail chains across Uzbekistan.
