On Tuesday morning, November 12, Tashkent was ranked third among the world’s cities with the most polluted air, according to data from the IQAir portal.
The concentration of PM2.5 (dust, particles from car tires, asphalt, and heavy metal compounds) in the air of the Uzbek capital exceeded the safe limit by 18 times.
The highest levels of air pollution were recorded in Lahore, Pakistan, and Delhi, India.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that environmental inspections are initiated in Tashkent to address air pollution.
