In the upcoming winter season, Uzbekistan plans to supply 21 bn cubic meters of gas to its population, as reported during a presentation attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, an action plan was introduced to prepare for a potential cold snap, which includes specific measures tailored to different districts and months. A reserve gas stock has been established, and a targeted distribution system has been implemented for major facilities, including thermal power plants, chemical factories, and metallurgical enterprises.
The meeting also focused on strategies to monitor and reduce gas losses and conserve resources in the Andijan, Navoi, and Tashkent regions.
Significant attention was given to reforms within the gas sector. Companies in the industry are seeking to attract investments from international financial markets to modernize their infrastructure. Priorities include digitalization and forming partnerships with private operators through public-private collaborations.
The president instructed officials to reduce gas costs, optimize expenses, and expedite the modernization of the gas network.
Kursiv Uzbekistan reports that the price of liquefied gas in the country has decreased by 14%.
