Samarkand completed its Year of Art and Friendship, held under its status as the CIS Cultural Capital. The event ended with a CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra performance, led by conductor Sergey Skripka.
At a ceremony in the Regional Theatre of Musical Drama, Samarkand officially transferred the title to Lachin, an Azerbaijani city that will hold the status next year.
