Uzbekistan to Allow Travel to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan with ID Cards
Citizens of Uzbekistan will soon be able to travel to Tajikistan and Kazakhstan using their internal ID cards. This announcement was made by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Currently, such an agreement exists only in Kyrgyzstan.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized that Uzbekistan’s foreign policy should be based on strengthening good-neighbourly relations with Central Asian countries and protecting the republic’s independence and sovereignty, with the support of the armed forces.
The President highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships with Uzbekistan’s immediate neighbours to ensure regional stability and security. Good-neighbourly ties with Central Asian states will remain a priority in Uzbekistan’s new foreign policy concept.
Next year, a summit of the leaders of the five Central Asian states is planned for Uzbekistan. This meeting is expected to represent another step toward effective regional cooperation.
The President also reiterated that the country’s security and sovereignty rely on its armed forces. In the face of external threats and global instability, Uzbekistan must pay particular attention to its army’s combat readiness and morale.
Mirziyoyev called on every citizen of Uzbekistan to remember that protecting the country’s peace and freedom is a duty for all who consider it their homeland.
