Kazakhstan Strengthens Position in Global IT Market
Kazakhstan’s IT sector continues to expand its global reach. Exports of IT services reached nearly $530 mln in 2023, according to the Minister of Digital Development, Olzhas Bektenov. For the first half of 2024, exports amounted to over $300 mln.
Currently, IT solutions developed in Kazakhstan are sold in 86 countries, which reflects a high demand for digital technologies. To further enhance market access, the Ministry, in collaboration with Astana Hub, is implementing programmes focused on long-term partnerships with global IT giants.
The nation ranks among the top 30 most digitised nations globally and holds the eighth position in providing online services. Efforts to foster digital transformation are ongoing, supported by adopting a Digital Transformation Concept and favourable conditions for developing venture capital markets and startup ecosystems.
Astana Hub now a key innovation cluster hosts over 1,500 companies contributing to the sector’s growth. Over the past five years, IT service exports have grown 20-fold and are expected to surpass $600 mln by the end of 2024. Projections indicate that active development in areas like e-commerce, Big Data, Game Development, Fintech, and MedTech could push exports to $1 bln by 2026.
