Bukhara Bans Scooters Near Historical Monuments

In Bukhara, motorbikes, scooters, bicycles and mopeds have been banned from using near historical monuments, the Road Traffic Safety Service (RTS) reported.

As explained by the agency, such transport may threaten cultural heritage objects. Its use near historical monuments poses a danger to tourists and residents of the city.

Road signs informing about the restrictions are currently being installed near historical sites.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Uzbekistan is discussing the introduction of fines for those who violate the rules of using scooters and electric scooters.
